The Rothsay Track & Field team opened the season at the Pine to Prairie Conference Indoor Meet on Tuesday, March 31, competing against 13 teams. We had nine athletes represent our program, and it was a strong start to the year. Dawson Leabo had an outstanding performance, placing 4th out of 63 competitors in the 55M and 6th out of 33 in the long jump. Kenzie Jensen also competed well, finishing 15th out of 83 athletes in the 55M.
Overall, I was pleased with the effort and competitiveness we showed in our first meet. It’s a great starting point, and I’m excited to see how these athletes continue to develop and progress as the season unfolds.

For the 6th straight year, students and faculty have submitted songs for the annual "March Music Madness" bracket. This year's theme was "Greatest Duos of all time," and the winning song was "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" sung by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. This song was selected by Mrs. Green AND Mason Heidecker. Congratulations to you both!

🎉 Brooklyn Achieved a Milestone Worth Celebrating! 🎉
Since the beginning of the school year, Brooklyn set a big goal for herself — to earn 100 AR points. She even made a deal with Mrs. Peterson that if she reached her goal, she could pie someone in the face! 🥧😄
Brooklyn didn’t just reach her goal… she crushed it!
To get there, she took and passed an incredible 118 reading quizzes. 📚
Can you guess how many words she read along the way?
If you guessed 410,017 words, you would be exactly right! 🤯
That’s over four hundred thousand words read this school year...AND she is NOT done yet!
Way to go, Brooklyn! Your hard work, dedication, and love of reading paid off. We are so proud of you! 👏📖

Creativity was in full swing with our recent art collaboration between 3rd grade students in Mrs. Peterson’s and Ms. Christensen’s classes along with the Senior High art students! 🎨
Together, students explored new brushstroke techniques, practiced shading to add depth and dimension, and learned how to properly mount their artwork for display. It was inspiring to see our younger artists learning from the experience and guidance of our high school students, while building confidence and skills along the way.
